HOW TO BE BORN AGAIN
“Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3
There is only one path, one sacrifice, one way to regain a relationship with God.
Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me.” (John 14:6)
Good works cannot save you from a life eternally separated from God.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
These four steps must take place:
1. Acknowledge your sin and the penalty of it.
“All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the LORD has laid on Him (Jesus) the iniquity of us all” (Isaiah 53:6)
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (God’s holy standard) (Romans 3:23)
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Rom 6:23)
2. Obey God’s call to repent (turn away from sin & turn to God)
Jesus said: “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:5)
“Jesus answered them, It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance” (Luke 5:31-32)
3. Put your trust in Jesus Christ’s death, burial and resurrection.
“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received: how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried and that He rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures.” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners. Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
4. Pray to receive Jesus into your life to be your Savior and Lord.
“For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:10)
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
Use this as an example for your prayer:
God, I confess I am a sinner, and deserve eternal death. I also acknowledge my need for forgiveness. I believe Jesus went to the cross, shed His blood, died, was buried and rose again for my sin. I now repent of my sin and desire to live for Jesus Christ. Jesus, I receive your gift of eternal life and want to thank you for becoming my personal Savior. Amen
Insert your name in this verse:
“For God so loved (your name) that He gave His only begotten Son, that if (your name) believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life”.
(John 3:16 paraphrased)
“But as many as received him, to them gave He the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name:” (John 1:12)
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

“Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart; and you shall find rest unto your souls. For My yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30)
“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” (Philippians 4:6)

This great book, the Bible, this most precious volume is the heart of God made legible; it is the gold of God’s love, beaten out into gold leaf, so that therewith our thoughts might be plated, and we also might have golden, good, and holy thoughts concerning him.
People who are crucified with Christ have three distinct marks: 1. they are facing only one direction, 2. they can never turn back, and 3. they no longer have plans of their own.
The grand sin of the human race is their continual endeavor to live independently of God.
