Our Mission

Bethesda Baptist Church in Hutchinson, MN is a congregation of people who desire to learn what the perfect will of God is, so we may conform our lives to pleasing Him in all that we do. We hold to the preaching and teaching of God’s Word. We believe it is the ministry of the Church to be involved in discipleship and the equipping of the saints to carry out the great commission of our Lord (discipleship, evangelism, baptism).

What We Believe

We hold to a congregational church government, led by a pastor who has been qualified by ordination and reviewed by Biblical qualifications. The pastor is to be the shepherd of the local flock (congregation). He is responsible for the direction of the church in all areas. We believe the deacons to be an elected office of men to meet the needs of the congregation to give the pastor time to be in the Word.

As a church, it is up to each individual to carry out and live out a life that is consistent with Scripture. We also believe in reconciliation, restoration, forgiveness as a member repents and moves back to a Biblical position. We believe we are to be Christ’s ambassadors as we walk through this world.

Brian Hackert was saved in 1985 and was under the teaching and training of Jerry Brantham at Southside Baptist Church in Inver Grove Heights, MN. He became involved in many ministries there such as a bus captain on the bus ministry, heading up the children’s church, and starting up evangelistic outreach meetings in smaller towns. He was used in filling the pulpit for another church. He was elected as deacon for a number of terms. Under Pastor Brantham’s teaching, he trained Brian to become a pastor over the span of15 years.

In 2000, Brian was ordained and was sent out to reopen a church. He pastored there for 3 years and then moved to the inner city of St. Paul and became involved in street ministry. He pastored that church for another 3 years until his faithful wife, Mary, was diagnosed with cancer and went home to be with the Lord in 2007. Following her death, Brian was involved in teaching positions in other churches but was not active as a pastor.

Brian remarried in 2010 to his lovely wife, Anita, and resided in Plymouth, MN until Dec 2020 when they moved to Hutchinson, MN. God was once again stirring Brian’s heart to pastor a church in Hutchinson.

His heart is clearly for outreach, discipleship, and teaching the Word of God.
